Chicken Tikka Masala

Ingredients

  1. Chicken thighs (boneless and skinless) - 900 gram

  2. Ginger garlic paste (2 Tbsp)

  3. Yogurt - 2 Cups

  4. Red Chili/Kashmir Chili - 2 Tsp

  5. Cumin - 1 Tsp

  6. Garam masala - 3 Tsp

  7. Olive Oil - 5 Tbsp

. Onion - 1

. Turmeric - 1 Tsp

. Tomato sauce - 1 Can

. Rice - 1 Cup

. Coriander - 1 Tsp

. Butter - 1 Tbsp

Directions

  1. Marinate chicken in salt ginger garlic paste, yogurt, red chilli, cumin, garam masala and olive oil

  2. Let stay for 5 hours

  3. Set oven to 400F

  4. Wash rice and put aside to throw in oven when it reaches 400

  5. Cook Rice for 40 minutes

  6. Heat oil in Cast Iron pot

  7. Add Onions

  8. Add Ginger Garlic paste when onion starts to turn gold

  9. Add tomato sauce

  10. Add Turmeric, Coriander, Red Chillies, and Salt

  11. Sautee for 1 minute

  12. Add Chicken

  13. Cook for 10 minutes

  14. Add butter to make it thick

  15. Add yogurt and garam masala and cook for another 5 min

  16. Ready when it cools down after 30 minutes

Alternate Milder Spicy Versions:

  • Marinate with yogurt, salt, garam masala and oil only

  • Use Diced tomatoes instead of tomato sauce

  • Add chicken after tomatoe sauce and before spices
